In an ideal situation, what do you imagine your life to be? How can we as a team create the steps necessary to achieve living the life you imagine? In our sessions, we will work towards the goals you create for yourself. Many times, our symptoms manifest in such a way that we are incapable of coming up with any goals; let alone identifying steps to live the life we love. With a strength base approach, and utilization of other evidence based treatment modalities; we can accomplish setting the goals and boundaries so that the life you live is one you love.
In my practice with adolescents and children, we many times use an art as therapy approach; which allows for expression in a way that is less confrontational. Is your adolescent struggling with self harm or suicidal ideation? With the help of evidence-based; dialectical and cognitive behavioral practices these challenging symptoms are greatly reduced.
In my work with young adults; (transitional age 16-24) we focus on life skills and improved perception by promoting our self worth and decreasing feelings of inadequacy. In my work with families; we learn to recognize what is working, and create goals with those strengths in mind. My focus with all age groups is centered around holistic interventions.
